Fredens by- Jerusalem
Fredsvagten arrangeret i dag (22.06.08) en markering af Jerusalems status som fredens by (et led i den internationale 5 million peace march) ved at invitere til et fler-religiøst møde med musik og talere på Christiansborg Slotsplads. Selvom regnen gjorde sit, så blev de fremmødte ikke skræmt væk under seancen som også havde et tre minutters stilheds moment hvor alle deltagere formede en ring, som skulle forestille The Big Hug for Jerusalems ære.
Det fælles tema for mødet var fred. Det blev belyst især ved de tre talere fra kristen, jødisk og muslimsk side. Hvordan forstod de hver især begrebet fred? Det var egentlig tre forskellige talere med forskellige indgangsvinkler. Men det var ikke politiske eller sektariske talere. Tværtimod. Linda Herzberg fra det jødiske samfund i Danmark læste en poetisk tekst om hvordan hun forestillet fred kunne være i byen Jerusalem. Det var tydelig at høre hendes kærlighed og længsel for Jerusalem og hendes håb for en by hvor kristne, muslimer og jøder kunne leve side om side, i fred.
Lissi Rasmussen fra islamisk-kristen studiecenter (IKS) udpegede de socioøkonomiske faktorer som årsagen til manglende fred, generelt i verden. Hun mente også, at magtfaktoren og politiske interesser, næsten altid har været årsagen til ufred og konflikt i verden – ikke religionerne.
Meget skuffende – dog ikke overraskende – at pressen ikke var tilstede. Det er ligesom at medierne ikke helt har interesse i at dække fredsskabende initiativer mere. Dermed bidrager de – ligesom de fleste politikere med deres populistiske retorik til øget polarisering mennesker og mennesker imellem som i sidste ende skaber mere frygt, fortvivlelse og had.
I en tid hvor der kæmpes utallige krige på klodens overflade, har vores politikere i særdeleshed et øget etisk og menneskelig ansvar for at søge, støtte og implementere fredelige initiativer. Det er altid svært at advokere for fred på permanent basis. Det er ikke et let arbejde men krig avler mere krig og det giver kun anledning til død, kaos og langvarige traumer for alle involveret. Derfor er det værd at kæmpe for.
